ATMs and Cash Handling

Having worked in partnership with a variety of OEMs in the cash handling industry over the years, BNL’s Design Team has built up a wealth of experience of the functional requirements of these applications.

Machines used for the transportation of bank notes through ATM cash dispensers and high-speed bank note sorting and validating machines, are benefited by BNL’s integration of plastic bearings and shafts that result in lightweight, streamlined and cost effective sub-assemblies. Experts in shaft technology, BNL combine this skill with twin shot capabilities to create bespoke paper handling solutions at low costs.

Primary design considerations for plastic bearing solutions to these applications are reliability, non-corrosive properties, reduction of static build-up and low friction. Solutions involving methods such as the use of glass balls fulfil requirements in certain areas of these machines for totally non-magnetic components. Plastic bearings that include shields or sealed bearing assemblies resist any ingress of or abrasion from paper dust, resulting in greater rotational efficiency and a longer functional life of the end product.

BNL technology can offer advantages over traditional steel solutions, not least the significant cost reduction offered by integrated plastic bearing assemblies. BNL design solutions that are robust and efficient, incorporating clips, fixings, springs and shafts to reduce parts count.

BNL are active in other complementary industries where the efficient and accurate movement of paper is paramount.  Please see the pages on Photocopiers & Printers, Mail Handling and Labelling & Ticketing.
